    Aftermarket ‘Sport’ screen

    Hi,

Really enjoying my TS660, but as a taller fella (6’3”) find the screen can be quite noisy and buffety. I noticed a couple of aftermarket options for ‘sports’ screens and I was wondering if anyone had tried one, and if they found the airflow to be cleaner at higher speeds?

I prefer the look of this one:

    https://conquestracingltd.com/product/wrs-triumph-tiger-sport-660-sport-screen-2022/

but I know Puig do a version as well.

I don’t mind the wind rush from naked bikes, but quite like a bit of a screen to take some of the weight off. Also, can’t decide if it would unbalance the look of the bike and make the front a bit small, or make the Sport even Sportier!?

It would be great to hear your thoughts.

    Thanks!

There's a fair amount of correspondence about the pros and cons of different screens on here. It all seems a bit subjective. I'm from the 'windrush' generation of naked bike riders and found the TS660 stock screen caused too much discomfort from wind noise and buffeting in all positions. I'm a shorter fella (5'10").

I have fitted the Puig low sport screen. It looks similar to the WRS screen. I would say the low sport screen has given me a more comfortable riding experience. There's less wind noise; I still wear earplugs, and I feel some turbulence around the upper arms. Still not as clean as the naked bike.

I would also say the low sport screen looks okay and 'makes the Sport even sportier'. There are several images showing the sport screen in the photo gallery.

    Hi MotoJB,

Thanks for the response, I don’t know how I missed the other thread on the issue :138:.

Sounds like it is probably going to do what I wanted. The thought of removing it entirely and going for a spin hadn’t occurred to me so I might try that first just to see what it’s like- might be able to extrapolate between the two to get a better idea of how the shorter screen will feel.

In terms of looks, it wasn’t immediately apparent to me how to find images in the gallery  of bikes that people had fitted the shorter screens to, but sounds like you like it so I’ll bare that in mind..

Reckon I’ll give one a go at some point, will report back here with some pics and thoughts when I do.

    Cheers!

Great idea to remove the screen and experiment with a sort of naked bike experience  :028:. I will be interested to know what you find. I might try the same experiment. I also searched for something like a fly screen in the hope it would provide a 'clean' airflow and still some protection for the cockpit: nothing found  :110:.

Here are some more images from the Photos Gallery showing the sport screen. First, link to my bike and then I have taken the liberty of choosing those by Buchandiver followed by Rooster  :821:.

    Hey MotoJB,

Thanks for the images! Yeah I like the look of the sports screen, nice pics as well, makes me wanna ride off into the wilderness! I was fairly set on getting a clear screen but the tinted ones look pretty sweet so might reconsider…   :152:

Sorry, no pictures, But I too have installed the WRS smoked sport screen. It is a very solid screen. I have not had any shaking, vibration, or any other issue since installing it. And that is at speeds I will not mention. :745:

I have the WRS smoked sport screen installed. Honestly, I love the look and the increase in airflow is kinda nice in the hot weather. As previously stated, screen is SOLID.

    Thanks for the feedback 1PatcheS4,

Until I saw your picture I hadn’t realised the WRS is actually a bit taller than the Puig (I have since looked this up- WRS is 80mm shorter than stock and 105mm shorter for the Puig).

I think I prefer the WRS to the Puig as it fits the recess in the nose the same as the stock screen, rather than the Puig which seems to overhang the sides a bit.

Yeah I agree the tinted version does look good..! Am a bit skint at the moment but will come back with some pics when I buy and fit mine.

    Cheers!
