    Front V Rear tyre wear

So I've done just over 3k.  I'm no speed demon so it's not like I've been on the limit of grip, nor am I particularly heavy on the brakes, but my front tyre tread depth is a good 2mm below my rear.

I seem to remember the service guy at the 600 mile service telling me tyre depth but can't really remember what he said re front to rear.

Currently my Front is at average 3.2mm where the rear is average 5.2mm.  does this seem normal?

I was running recommended tyre pressures last year but before this season, on the recommendations on here, I uped them to 35/38.

No worries,  on most (all)road tyre brands the front tyre depth on a new tyre is always less than on a new rear tyre.
Tyre wear depends mostly on road surface and riding type.
From my experience the worst tyre killers are roads with rough tarmac surface.....especially in the Alpes the "gravillon" type.
My front tyres usually last only 4000-5000 miles. Rears last around 2000 miles longer.

Cheers mustangpilot.  That had crossed my mind but couldn't find anything to confirm on t'internet. I found the 600mile service sheet and it had them at 4mm/6mm.

Rough gravel, 'surface dressing' they call it here, makes up probably 90% of the roads I ride on so it kind of explains the wear.  Cheap way for councils to keep the roads intact.  Not so good for tyres or skidding down after you come off mind you
