    Top Box

So, I've had my top box for a while now, it's practical but I really really dislike how it looks. It definitely looks like it's just a rebranded Givi box as the base plate has monolock printed on it. Does that mean I should be able to get a Givi box that I like that uses the same mounting system and move my lock barrel over to it?

You are right. The Triumph topbox it is a rebranded GIVI V47 box with some modifications.
It is a Monokey plate and not Monolock. But with a twist..the distance between the front lock pins and the latch is 24cm on the GIVI and 26cm on Triumph.
I have "collected" 4 different GIVI monokey topboxes over the years and none fit the Triumph Monokey plates.
Same issue turned up on my 2018 Tiger 1200 XRx with the Triumph Expedition 42l monokey topbox. I changed the Triumph "sliding" topbox monokey plate for a Givi SRA6403 plate which bolted straight on.
I have a GIVI M9 monokey plate on my 2020 Tiger Sport 1050 and I checked if it could fit the Tiger Sport 660 topbox rack. It will not because the 4 holes for the mounting bolts are different in size and location. The GIVI E251 universal monokey plate probably can be fitted.
Another thing is that the Givi lock barrels are sized differently from Triumph too.

I forget things when walking between my bike and my computer, don’t mind me and thanks for the correction.

That’s a bit of a pain but I can live with it. Decided that my biggest issue with the box was the silly looking reflectors on the back. My wife was riding behind me a while back and asked why my brake lights weren’t working. Turns out she mistook the reflectors for where the brake lights should be and I can see how she could do that. I ended up removing them from the box and have started the process of painting them. Will see how it turns out.

And no, they’re not legally required here.

I think it came lot looking much better than I hoped, despite my poor painting skills.

Rob, the latch on the Triumph plate cannot be moved. Better get the GIVI E251 plate.
