Thought I'd share my temporary luggage option:  The Nelson Riggs "Commuter Lite" tail bag.  :034:
Who knows might even love this option for when I want to run a light weight Day Trip!

    Thanks for Watching

I thought about getting one of those as well. I have a Wolfman Wolfpack that I've owned for many years but didn't love it so I barely used it. I may break it out or join you in using the Nelson.

The Mosko Moto Backcountry 40L duffel fits perfectly on the pillion seat and can be secured to the OEM grabhandles with straps (Mosko or others).  If you have the rear rack/topcase, it can be used for the straps.  But, the rear rack is not absolutely necessary. I also have the 4L Molle storage pouch on top of the bag for my water bottle, so it obscures the view somewhat.

I installed the luggage rear rack and then installed the Mosko reckless 40.  Beautiful kit.

The Mosko stuff looks like great quality kit, though I'm a little bemused that with panniers and top box you feel the need for a further 40L luggage capacity for solo travel, unless maybe for camping gear? I use the Triumph panniers with my old Shad SH35 inner bags which fit almost perfectly, plus a Shad SH58X top box and find this gives me plenty of space for solo touring, but might be a challenge if taking camping gear. The Shad top box is expandable up to 58L. I usually have it in its minimum 46L setting, but can extend it when parked up if I want to leave my helmet in it.

The only reason I have extra storage is that I use the bike to travel around the region (300 mile radius) for work and travel with so much gear (multiple laptop PCs, power/battery banks, tools, etc.). I can do 3-5 day trips with no problems and without missing anything.  I don't actually NEED the multitude of storage, but it makes the trips convenient and extra pleasant! Consistently getting near 60mpg is an added bonus as well. My panniers do seem to leak often in rain, so the Backcountry 40L was to ensure a waterproof compartment along with the top case.

How's the handling loaded up like that?  I'm considering something similar for moto camping but probably without the top case.

I was just about to pull the trigger on those lovely but not waterproof Shad SH35 bags of Fred_JB's when I saw this.  Back to the drawing board.

I didn't notice any major change to handling beyond having some extra weight.  I did click a few turns on the pre-load adjustment (3 turns). The panniers are totally fine and dry when moving in the rain.  They only seem to leak when parked on the side-stand in the elements for several days.

That's good to know on both points.  Both Shad and I thank you.
